Many organizations today are struggling to build strategic thinking capabilities.  Our internal survey (based on discussions with participants of TMTC’s leadership programs] shows that employees spend more than 80% of their time thinking about today’s issues and do not spend enough time thinking about the future. Most of their time is spent on making operational decisions and on day-to-day firefighting, which leaves them with very little time to think about their businesses more strategically. Lack of strategic thinking is cited by leaders in a range of industries as one of the reasons for slow or inconsistent growth across businesses.

Strategic thinking requires a systems perspective, understanding of the macro environment, and an ability to connect the dots to stay ahead of competition. Better strategic thinking capability can thus add significant value to an organization’s performance. This program focuses on helping participants understand the importance of strategic thinking, how tools and techniques can be used to enhance individual strategic thinking capability, and how the strategic thinking process can be applied to enhance the quality of decisions. The program helps participants to think critically about various business situations and to learn from them.

Milind Pandit

Milind Pandit brings with him significant domestic and international experience in the areas of operations, strategy, strategic IT, knowledge management and reengineering. Over the last 20 years, he has consulted a number of small, medium and large scale organizations globally. Milind is a Senior Practice Consultant at TMTC and is responsible for the practice areas of operations and strategy. He routinely teaches Operations Management and Strategy to senior executives.
 
Srinivasa Adepalli
 
Srini is an independent strategy consultant providing consulting, training and mentoring services to corporates and startups. He is a visiting faculty in the strategy area at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, IIM Indore, NMIMS and the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. 
 
Srini’s teaching is focused on the areas of strategy and leadership development. He works with corporate management teams in strategic thinking, financial analysis, leadership communication, M&A, ethics & values and innovation. Srini has (co- )authored several business case studies, which have been published by ISB/HBSP, IIMA and Ivey. A case on business ethics was the Overall Winner at the ISB-Ivey Global Case Competition 2014. 
 
Srini was Chief Strategy Officer at Tata Communications, a global provider of enterprise and wholesale telecommunication services. He was responsible for strategy development and execution, and managed all new strategic initiatives at Tata Communications including growth plans, entry into new markets, investments and acquisitions. Srini was part of the leadership team that transformed a former public sector monopoly into a global leader in network services. He also managed the company’s innovation program, corporate marketing, brand & communications and regulatory affairs. Earlier, he worked in the Tata group Chairman’s office, coordinating the various telecom activities of the group. 
 
Srini has been named in the Global Telecoms Business 2010, 2011 and 2012 lists of top 40 global telecom executives under the age of 40 who will lead the industry in future. He serves on the boards of Tata Communications Payment Solutions Ltd. (India's first white label ATM operator), MMP Mobile Wallet Payment Systems Ltd. and Tata Communications Transformation Services Ltd. 
 
This program is designed for senior level executives (with at least 10 to 12 years of experience) who are responsible for functional, business or corporate strategies such as BU Heads, Marketing Heads, Sales Heads, Manufacturing and Design Heads etc. People who make critical business decisions in their functions, as well as executives who are moving into these roles and wish to enhance their strategic thinking skills, will also benefit from the program.
Participants will learn the strategic thinking process and how to apply it. In addition, they will get answers to the following questions.
1. How can I think more holistically during my day-to-day work?
2. What tools and techniques can I use to become a better strategic thinker?
